where to begin...
/As I sit here trying to draft my first post of my first blog on my first Mac (and figuring out the technology on the fly), the introvert in me is already stressing about how I should introduce myself and describe this blog’s purpose. In reality, that’s pretty ridiculous because it’s unlikely anyone other than my husband will read this for who-knows-how-long before someone stumbles across this site. So for now, I’m just going to describe why, during an unseasonably cool, misty afternoon in Victoria, I’m struggling to figure out how to use my new laptop rather than binge watch episodes of my go-to favourites on Netflix, Crave or HGTV… or get a few chores done so I feel like I’ve accomplished something before I’m off to work again tomorrow.
Over the next few months I will be celebrating two milestones - my university graduation and my 50th birthday. Thirty years ago I chose a path that brought me both pain and incredible joy - one that took me and my four children down a path of healing and adventure. As I approach this new chapter in my life, I felt a need to document things I thought would be important to share. Mucking Around came to be as life is too complex to fit into a particular genre, so this will be an eclectic site with recipes, shared alongside life’s lessons other experiences - at home and around our island. This virtual space will thus be a source of past reflections, serious and funny, as well as life’s experiences to come, with all its messes and successes. For those of you who have found your way here, I hope you will have a good laugh or learn something new, and return again to see how much fun comes from mucking around in life.
